ABOUT.
Lindsey Mattessich is chronically online.
I am an artistic, adventurous, intuitive 24-year-old from Los Angeles, California with a passion for social media and public relations. I am currently a senior at the University of Central Florida (UCF) and will be graduating with my Bachelor of Arts in Writing and Rhetoric in Spring 2026. I am a student member of the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) through Quotes Ad/PR Club at UCF, and even have editorial experience as a member of the Student Editorial Board and copy editor for Stylus: A Journal of First-Year Writing.
A creative to my core, the majority of my free time is occupied by my artistic pursuits including photography, creative writing, and music. I am a self-proclaimed jack-of-all-trades and I find that I am most content when I have multiple projects that I can alternate between at once. I thrive by taking on roles in which my flexibility and capacity for creativity are viewed as strengths. I am also supernaturally extroverted. Those who know me typically describe me as a social butterfly on steroids: extremely outgoing to the point that I will enthusiastically strike up a conversation with just about anybody that will let me. As such, connection and community are two core values of mine, so I work best with teams that prioritize communication and team-building.

I am adept at creating cohesive brand visuals and cultivating consistent visual branding themes across a variety of different media channels. I am a highly visual person with a deep-seated appreciation for creativity and curation. My eye for detail and visual coordination have provided the foundation upon which I successfully execute my social media marketing strategies. A majority of these skills have been self-taught or learned through experience with various freelance projects (see Portfolio).

Of all of the communications skills I have been developing through my educational and professional careers, I have garnered the most real-world experience with community outreach. As a student member of the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) through Quotes AD/PR Club at the UCF, I have had plenty of opportunities to develop my public relations and communications skills. Furthermore, my extensive career as a promotional model and brand ambassador have provided me with countless hands-on public outreach experiences that taught me valuable marketing communications skills and further emphasized the role of brand identity in consumer outreach.

As a Gen Z young adult who was raised in the advent of social media, I possess a profoundly personal understanding of the importance of social media in marketing to a young consumer base. My experience as a Social Media Marketing Intern for Rubio Beauty and Wellness has not only strengthened this understanding, but provided me with an in-field arena to practice the skills that I need to optimally utilize social media as both an advertising and public relations tool. I have also become certified in Social Media Marketing through HubSpot Academy.

Copywriting and copy editing
I am a skilled writer with the ability to communicate effectively in both professional and public settings. In 2020, I was awarded the Eastern Florida State College (EFSC) Online Student Award for my writing efforts. While I have been always been a strong writer, I have only further developed these skills through my studies as a Writing & Rhetoric student at the University of Central Florida. I am also an experienced copyeditor and have had the privilege of serving as a member of the student editorial board for Stylus: A Journal of First Year Writing, an academic journal published by the UCF Department of Writing & Rhetoric.

I can play any song on the piano by ear. The more familiar I am with the song, the quicker I can figure it out, but if you give me enough time I can sound anything out. I have a strong sense relative pitch, which is the ability to recognize notes by their relation to other pitches.

I used to compose a cappella sheet music in high school. My arrangement of "no tears left to cry" by Ariana Grande was performed by Google NYC's employee a cappella group ScaleAbility in a since-deleted video from their Fall 2019 concert. Another one of my arrangements was performed and recorded by award-winning Irish vocal band Ardú for their 2020 album Live. You can listen to it here.

My favorite movie of all time is Legally Blonde. It was my comfort movie during my first semester of college, and I used to watch it so often that my roommate began to ask "Is it Legally Blonde o'clock?" every time I would come back from class (spoiler alert: it always was). To this day, I always throw it on whenever I need a little girl power to get me by.
